Vacuum Brazing in High Vacuum is the leading technology which allows to join together dissimilar materials and in complex geometry. Vacuum Brazing is the unique technology which allow to join metal-ceramic composite structures.
Metal-Ceramic composite structures are used in several applications, taking advantages from the good mechanical, thermal, electrical properties due to Alumina which is extensively used in these type of component.
V.L.T. is able to manufacture any type of Metal-Ceramic component, the followings are a few of the most important material normally used:
Metals : Stanley steel, OFHC Cupper, Titanium, Molybdenum, Tungstenum, Nichel Alloys, Cupper Alloys, Special Alloys.
Ceramics : Alumina (Al2O3), Zirconia (ZrO2), Silicon Carbide (SiC).
Composites : C.F.C. (Carbon Fiber Carbon), Graphite fibers.
Different materials : Sapphire, Quarz (SiO2), Magnesium Fluorite (MgF2),Graphite.
Metal-Ceramic composite structures realized by Vacuum Brazing have very high electrical, mechanical and vacuum characteristics, which are better specified in the component catalogue.
The structures can withstand high operation temperature up to 800°C and over for special design.

We should underline that some of these joints required the development of special techniques and cannot be provided by all suppliers.
